In many ways, marketers for decades have just got in front of our faces and sold us what they thought we may want. Then came the internet and suddenly the change occurred which allowed the consumers to take control of the information flow of the items in which they were interested. From that moment on, the consumer started to switch off from the standard marketing venues such as:
- Letter Box
- Bill Boards
- OR simply just contact me.
These are just not working like they use to? Why? Because now people prefer to go to the internet and get all the good information on the product before they buy. If you want to achieve a better result, then you must have a different attitude to your marketing strategy and be more internet based and be interactive with your clients. Don’t simply continue to talk at them and furthermore don’t forget Einstein’s definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.
So ensuring the Effectiveness of Real Estate Marketing, requires you to up the ante to another level.
The internet has done so much more than just offering a resource to receive information and research items that we may want to buy. The big change that every business has to face is that the consumer is becoming more educated about everything.
The consumer is now in control. Accept it.
Lone behold any business that takes their clients/customers for granted or even more, attempt to pull the wool over their eyes with good sales talk. In the past many people were able to be convinced something was more than it really was, but no longer. The consumer reads everything about the products, the brands or the people they may want to purchase or do business with. There are plenty of sites that give customers feedback and this will mean more to a consumer, than words in an advert or on a website. The old way of simply throwing around statements that you are BIGGEST, BEST, OR SOLD MOST when there are feedback articles from clients who gives comments about a bad experience, which will always be of greater influence.
With the internet, something written may never go away.
You could have an article in the paper that wasn’t complementary but it is gone in a week. But with the internet anyone can type in your name and all articles about you will come up from many years back. We are in a new world and the sooner that is faced and the way you treat clients, the better future you and your business may have. If you are doing things that are not in the best interest of your clients, then this is the time to stop. Sooner or later, the consumer will read articles that show certain practices are not in their best interests and the consumers will turn against those companies who operate under these practices.
This may all be very threatening, but it needs not to be. So many Real Estate Agents have had a wealth of experience, whether it be property investment or business expertise. This is now your opportunity to offer this advice and make it from the heart where you are giving sincere, helpful advice and answering the many concerns that people out there in the world may have, and some could be your future clients. With every change, there are many opportunities for those who see the change to a new direction as not a stumbling block in the old ways that they prefer to continue. They won’t. Accept it and be a vital part of the exciting new world to come.
